I once read a quote on one of my friend's shirt that said: "It's not about how far you swim, It's not about how fast you swim, It's about how far you can swim fast." As you can tell from this quote that he was a swimmer. Something that I didn't realize until just now is that you can apply this quote to just about anything.
Not only swimming but running as well. (That's the quote I use to keep myself to keep it up. Except, of course, I replace it with something different.) And in life. Too often we disappoint ourselves because we're not as great as we had hoped we would be at something. We don't realize how far we've come or don't see how much we've already achieved. Usually, we just see in the present and see how much more we have to do. I also see this quote as a way how to get out of depression. It's kind of weird to think about it from that point of view but way too often when we get depressed, and I mean REALLY depressed not only do we just see the bad side of life in the moment but we also see the bad side of the future. We don't see how we can get past whatever hurdle we have to face. The thing is it's not about how long we live with our depression. It's not about how quickly we recover from it. It's about how long we can quickly recover from it. Everyone has their own pace and everyone has their own level of depression and hurt that they can handle. I hope that this was in some ways educational and that whatever trials you may be facing right now, 'Don't give up. Don't you quit. You keep walking. You keep trying. There is help and happiness ahead... It will be alright in the end. Trust in God and believe in good things to come.' I love you guys! And I really hope that you have an amazing day ahead of you! Have a good one! :) <3 Julienne
